Polish Your Steel Appliances
If you need to brighten up your stainless steel pots and pans or appliances, no need to buy expensive cleaners. Cut a lemon in half and use to inside to rub over the area you’re cleaning. Don’t rinse with water put gently buff with a soft cloth. The acid will give it a nice clean and sparkly shine.
Removing Stains From Marble
If you have a stone counter top you know how easily it can stain. Not only that but you have to be careful about the harsh cleaning products you use on it. Using a lemon to clean the marble is safe and does a great job removing stains like coffee, wine, or food. Cut a lemon in half and dip it salt. Use it like a scrub brush to gentle wash the area. After letting it sit for a few minutes you can rise carefully with water. Don’t let the lemon sit for too long because the acid could cause damage to the stone.
Cleaning Your Coffee pot
Did you ever make a cup of coffee and even though you measured perfectly it still tasted off? Using mineral water to make coffee can clog our machines. Use lemon juice in water and make a pot of coffee to clear it out. You’ll notice how much coffee grind and junk will be removed. You could also add a teaspoon of vinegar for added disinfecting. Be sure to run a cycle with just plain water to clear out the scent.
Brighten Your Wash
Lemon is a natural bleaching agent. Add a cup of lemon juice while washing whites to help keep them bright. If you have dingy smelly socks, add a few lemon slices to a pot of boiling water and let the socks soak for awhile before washing. The lemon will help remove the stains and give them a more desirable smell.
DIY Furniture Polish
Mix one part lemon juice and two parts olive oil to create furniture polish. Shake well before each use. Use a soft cloth like a microfiber cloth to polish furniture. You’ll get a nice shine and great smell in your home.
