FAQ

Are all Nature’s Baby products certified?

All products with the USDA Organic logo are certified to the USDA NOP Organic Standard. We have formulated all products with premium ingredients. The ingredients in our Certified Organic lines meet all federal requirements for organic ingredients and are certified by third-party certifying organizations such as: Quality Assurance International (QAI), Oregon Tilth, and other organic certifying agencies.

Are all Nature’s Baby products 100% vegan?

No. Products containing beeswax (Ah-Choo, Soothing Stick and Diaper Ointment) are naturally not 100% vegan. All other products are 100% vegan.

Are your shampoos ‘tear-free’?

Although our shampoos are pH-neutral and inevitably tear-free, few babies might have an allergic reaction that might cause redness and/or irritation in their eyes.

Do you offer coupons for your products?

Yes, we do! Please follow us on social media to keep up to date with any specials or coupons we are offering.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we do not offer international shipping for retail customers. We refer our international customers to www.iherb.com.

How come all your products are not certified by the USDA?

Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to create a “good” shampoo or conditioner that comply to the strict list of allowed ingredients by the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP). The NOP standards are mainly developed for food and agricultural products and as such, limit the use of traditional cosmetic/personal care ingredients that are widely used in the industry. As an example, we have yet to find a natural preservative that 1) keeps the product fresh on the shelves; 2) maintains product shelf stability for at least one year; 3) be commercially available, 4) works with products that contain water; and 5) comply to the USDA NOP standards. All products containing water must be preserved with either an alcohol-containing preservative, parabens or other commercially available preservatives. We do not preserve our products with alcohol because we have concerns about it’s absorption and drying effect on baby’s sensitive skin as well as irritation associated with dermatitis. The same goes for parabens. Hopefully, researchers and/or product formulators would eventually develop an effective 100% natural preservative in the near future. Until then, and as long as NOP standards remain the same, we have no alternative but to use a minimum amount of the most natural preservative that we can find that is also food-grade, such as Geogard Ultra®, in our products to maintain the necessary shelf life. Naturally, this is against our wish but we keep the amount of preservatives at a base minimum, just enough to extend the shelf life to an acceptable extent as expected by our customers. Therefore, our products are very delicate and can easily go rancid, if exposed to any source of contamination. We ask all our customers to keep the lids of their bottles closed after each use in order to avoid contaminating the content.

How do I know if I am allergic to any of your products?

We recommend that you carefully review the ingredient list of any product you use to determine if it is acceptable to your needs. If you see an allergic reaction, please stop using the product.

What does your European Union Compliance mean?

The EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 came into force in 2013 and concerns 31 European countries (28 countries of the EU + Norway + Iceland + Lichtenstein). The regulation is based on three principles:

  • Safety of Raw Materials and Ingredients
  • Good manufacturing practices
  • Invigilating of cosmetic market

With this regulation, the European Union sets a higher level of transparency for finished cosmetic and personal care products, prevents the placing on the market of hazardous substances, and strengthen safety for consumers.

Nature's Baby's products have gone through the rigorous EU compliance process and we have obtained EU approval for all our hair and skincare products to be sold anywhere within the European union.

How pure are your products?

Our products are formulated without: parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium methyl sulfate, propylene glycol, aluminum, mineral oil, petrolatum, oxybenzone, nano-particles, DEA, MEA or TEA, PEGs and PEG derivatives, ethoxylated ingredients associated with 1,4 dioxane, formaldehyde donors, or GMOs.

You can find most of our products online at Amazon.com or iHerb.com. You may also find our products at select few baby specialty shops and fine boutiques.

Why has my shampoo/conditioner gone bad (mold or foul smell)?

Since we use a minimum amount of preservatives in our formulas, our products can potentially go rancid due to exposure to water or other outside contaminants. Therefore, we encourage everyone to always keep the lids closed after use and avoid leaving the bottles under running water while showering. If you suspect that your product has gone rancid, please discontinue the use and dispose of it.
